Made For Each Other

Jason and Shannon met at an annual fish fry in 2005. They were both representing their companies at the Austin Contractors & Engineers Association. Shannon had the job of selling drink tickets, and was happy to be able to chat with Jason as he bought drink tickets. Jason walked Shannon to her car at the end of the evening, and asked for her phone number. He called her the next day and invited her and a friend to Happy Hour at a local restaurant, and only after an hour, Shannon knew she was going to marry him. “The rest is history, now we have a house in Hutto and a puppy named Moose,” laughs Shannon. “Jason and I fit together so well, that I really think God made us for each other,” she said. “We compliment each other in every aspect of our personalities and get along great.”
They began to browse for rings for a few months during the latter part of 2007. Shannon found the ring of her dreams, at Bailey Banks and Biddle, but when she went back to show a friend the beautiful ring, it was gone. She was crushed. While on vacation at Tahoe, with a snow covered mountainous background, Jason dropped down to one knee and said, “Shannon you are the love of my life and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” “Will you marry me?” Shannon pulled him up to kiss him and said “yes!” as he reached over to a pocket that was on his jacket sleeve and pulled out “the ring” that Shannon had found months earlier. “I was so excited, Jason had planned so well, he even brought a phone up with him so I could call my mom and dad and tell them the good news,” said Shannon. The next day as they were skiing down the last run of the mountain, Shannon hit loose powder and felt her knee give and down she went. After a snowmobile finally got her down to the bottom of the mountain, she was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a ripped ACL and a fractured leg. She had to have surgery that day. Jason of course never left her side to help with the whole recovery. “I already knew that he was a good man, but now I had concrete evidence that he would take care of me in good times and in bad,” said Shannon.
Jason and Shannon planned the entire wedding, from viewing the different venues to picking out the caterer and flowers. They began planning as soon as they got back from Tahoe. The couple fell in love with Memory Lane Weddings and Events, in Dripping Springs for their wedding. They chose to be married under a wooden arbor laid in tulle and satin. Above their heads was a rose ball of red and yellow roses as a remembrance of their grandparents that are no longer living.
After the short ceremony, that was very short and to the point, the reception began. As Jason and Shannon made their entrance, they began the first dance to Alan Jackson’s “Like Red on a Rose,” followed by the father/daughter dance and the mother/son dance. A full dinner including Chocolate and Kahula Fondue along with bridal cake and the groom’s cookie cake in the shape of the Texas Ranger badge was served to celebrate the happy event. The rest of the reception was all about dancing, having fun and celebrating. Jason and Shannon made their exit among thousand of colorful sparklers to enjoy a honeymoon in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen lying on the beach and drinking tropical drinks with tiny umbrellas. They truly were “Made for Each Other!”
