Married_to_My_Best_Friend

Michael and Jacqueline met at a place that she was convinced that she could never find a person to spend the rest of her life, a bar. They became good friends, but had actually never dated one another until 1996. “I always knew he was going to make someone a great husband, I just didn’t know it would be me,” laughs Jacqueline. “How lucky am I to marry my best friend.”

Jacqueline and Michael, both a mature couple in their 40’s had been together for 12 years and discussed often what a great party it would be to celebrate their love and friendship by getting married. In August of 2007, Michael surprised Jacqueline with a romantic dinner, a room full of multicolored daisies (which happen to be her nickname), and three mysterious cards. As she read card number one that said “Daisy will you marry me?” Michael kneeled and produced a beautiful engagement ring. The second card read, “Yes,” and the third card read, “No.” “I handed him the yes card, thinking, after 12 years together, it was tough not to respond with” FINALLY!” jokes Jacqueline.

Jacqueline wanted her wedding to incorporate things that they both liked, and she especially wanted Michael to be comfortable. They both love wrought iron, old wood and granites, so they naturally fell in love with Kali-Kate Horse Farms with its beautiful and elegantly covered pavilion and neutral palette. She and Michael were drawn to the high-pitched ceiling, gorgeous wrought iron chandelier, hundreds of twinkle lights, and the majestic stone fireplace with tall wax candles; it had the perfect ambiance they were looking for. Jacqueline incorporated pheasant and peacock feathers and deer antlers for the centerpieces, because of Michael’s love for outdoors and hunting. She chose oasis blue (turquoise) and variations of brown for the color theme, along with rustic and dried arrangements that perfected the rustic impression.

A simple but elegant ceremony was held on the flower mound just outside the covered pavilion, with Jacqueline in a gorgeous ivory and silver Mori Lee gown, and Michael in a black suit tuxedo. As beautiful Mariachi music played in the background, the two were united in marriage.

The reception was held under the pavilion. Guests were greeted with a sign above the entrance that read “Amazing Love, see I have engraved you on the palms of my hands, Isaiah 49:16,” a very special gift to Jacqueline from her maid of honor. The guests were also treated to an amazing buffet dinner with a rustic flavor, to incorporate Michael’s hunting interests, such as quail and deer, while enjoying the music by Mariachi Relampago and DJ’s Austin Complete Music. The happy couple, family and friends danced the night away, celebrating the love of two very happy “best friends!”
